Rooted in Service. Driven by Community.
My name is Mohamed Omar and I’m running for Grove City Council At-Large because I believe in a future where everyone has a voice, and that future starts with leadership that reflects the people it serves. I’m a proud first-generation American raised by parents who came to this country with hope and grit. They worked hard, made sacrifices, and taught me that success isn’t just about personal gain. It’s about lifting others as you rise. I carry those values into everything I do. I’m not a politician by trade. I’m an educator, an advocate, and a neighbor who believes that public service should be rooted in listening, understanding, and doing the hard work to make things better for everyone.
Professionally, I’ve built my career around helping people. I’ve worked in higher education, student success, and community outreach, supporting students and families as they navigate systems that often feel overwhelming and unfair. I’ve helped young people find their purpose, families find financial aid for college, and schools find better ways to serve all their students. In every role I’ve held, I’ve seen how policies made at the top directly affect the daily lives of people on the ground. That’s why I believe policy must be personal. Behind every decision is someone’s livelihood, someone’s future, someone’s child. I’ve sat with those families, walked with those students, and fought alongside those communities. I bring that lived experience and unwavering empathy with me into this campaign and into every room where decisions are made.
Grove City is growing fast, and with that growth comes both opportunity and responsibility. We have a chance to build something that works for everyone, not just for the loudest voices or the most well-connected. Our city deserves inclusive leadership that looks beyond the surface and truly understands the lived experiences of all its residents. That means investing in neighborhoods that have been overlooked, supporting small businesses and working families, expanding opportunities for our youth, and making decisions that reflect the needs of our entire community, not just a select few. I’m not running for city council to make a name for myself. I’m running to make sure everyone else’s name gets called too.
I know what it’s like to feel unseen and unheard, and I’ve spent my life making sure others don’t have to feel that way. I’ve led with empathy, advocated with passion, and shown up consistently for the people I serve. I believe in service over status, collaboration over division, and people over politics. I believe our city government should be transparent, accessible, and focused on delivering results. Most importantly, I believe leadership should feel familiar, not distant or out of touch, but grounded in the same streets, schools, and stories that shape the rest of us. That’s the kind of leader I am, and that’s the kind of leadership Grove City deserves.
Not a career politician. A servant leader who shows up when it counts.
Mohamed knows what it means to live in a community where not everyone feels heard. As a young, Black leader, he brings a perspective that reflects the experiences of many residents who have been left out of local decision-making. He is committed to making city government more accessible, more inclusive, and more responsive to all of Grove City, not just the most well-connected.
This campaign is not about short-term fixes or political ambition. It is about building a city that works for generations to come. Mohamed is focused on thoughtful development, smart investment in public spaces, and policies that support working families, students, and small businesses. He believes in creating a Grove City where young people can see their future and longtime residents can continue to thrive.
Mohamed’s background is rooted in education, student success, and community engagement. From mentoring first-generation college students to leading programs that support working families, he has spent his career focused on helping others thrive. He believes in the power of access, equity, and consistent support. Through every role he has held, Mohamed has shown up with compassion, accountability, and purpose. He brings that same dedication to public service and to building a stronger Grove City for all.
Leadership for Mohamed means showing up, listening first, and doing the work required to create real change. He leads with humility and purpose, always putting the needs of the community before his own. Rather than seeking the spotlight, Mohamed is focused on building trust, solving problems, and uniting people around shared values. He believes strong leadership is not about titles or attention, but about results. His vision is a Grove City where everyone feels heard and valued.
